About Enrico

I am a qualified Yoga and SUP Yoga Teacher Trainer offering a range of yoga classes suitable for people of all abilities, shapes, sizes and levels of flexibility and fitness, even if you haven’t exercised much over the past few years. I have over 35 years of training and teaching experience in a wide variety of fields from training Emergency Medical and Rescue personnel to teaching Yoga and SUP Yoga.

As a former fire fighter, paramedic and semi-professional triathlete, I understand how life can creep up on you and how your body shape, flexibility and fitness can change over the years.

Don’t worry, my classes, workshops and courses are specifically designed for the ‘average student’ and focus on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing - in turn, this will help to improve sleep, posture, balance and core strength, and provide many other health benefits.

I pride myself on my classic style of teaching, with a relaxed and open approach that ensures a lot of fun.

In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help my students deepen their practice. I seek to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

I usually run Vinyasa based classes (also called flow) where poses are strung together into a fluid sequence of movement. This allows a lot of variety and is suitable for all levels - so whether you are a beginner wanting to learn the basics or have a background in yoga, my classes have something for everyone.

Yoga has been a part of my life on and off for many years. As well as inspiring me to live more mindfully and in the present, yoga has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and confident - both on and off the mat.

I came back to yoga whilst completing a PhD where my research into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) showed that yoga rated highly as a go-to therapy for those suffering from this condition.

Before this my life revolved around cardio exercises with little attention given to strength and flexibility training. Having re-found my passion for yoga, I  went on to complete further  Yoga Teacher Training and continued my studies to also qualify in SUP/Paddleboard yoga,  Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs.

For me, yoga is really about the art of opening up; peeling away all the layers and getting back to the true you. Yoga offers up a way for us to see a world that is working for us instead of against us and reminds us that everything is connected so we must live, act, dance, breathe with awareness.

I work in and around the Southampton area and would love to hear from you to see how yoga can be incorporated into your life, so get in touch if you have any questions or would like to find out more?
